Timothy Berners-Lee: Creator of the World Wide Web

Sir Timothy Berners-Lee was born in 1955 in London. He was fascinated by trains, and he made electronic gadgets to control his model trains in his bedroom. Then he became more interested in technology. Timothy Berners-Lee became a software engineer at CERN after graduating from Oxford University in 1976. He came up with the idea of the World Wide Web (WWW) in 1989, but his boss rejected it.
He attended various London schools as a child. He majored in physics at Oxford University. He hosted the first website on his World Wide Web with a CERN Computer.
Some of his contributions were that he developed the World Wide Web, revolutionizing the internet. He founded the World Wide Web consortium. He also co-founded Inrupt, the startup that created the Solid application to give users control of their personal data and keep their privacy. Sir Timothy believed that ISPs shouldn't monitor their customer's web browsing activities.

Larry Page: Co-Founder and Former CEO of Google

From a young age, Larry Page was immersed in technology. He developed a passion for computers. He graduated from University of Michigan and then went to Stanford to major in computer science. There, he met Sergey Brin, and they dropped out together to launch a revolutionizing search engine: Google.
Larry Page and Sergey Brin became multibillionaires in 2004, and employees with shares in the company became millionaires. Google was exploding in popularity and reaping the money. Larry Page and some other Google executives decided to reduce their salary to $1 a year and their money depended on the company’s performance in the stock market.
Page graduated from East Lansing High School in 1991, University of Michigan in 1995, and dropped out of Stanford University in 1998.
Some of his contributions were that he developed the PageRank algorithm for the Google search engine, founded Google in 1998 with Sergey Brin, revolutionizing the digital world, and allowed Google employees to put 20% of their time toward individual projects, resulting in now commonly used Google services such as Google Maps, Google Docs, Gmail, etc.

Mark Dean: Co-Founder of IBM

Mark Dean is a computer scientist who is well known from his important contributions.
For example, he helped to invent the first gigahertz chip in 1999, which could perform a billion calculations per second. He also helped invent a bunch of other things like the Industry Standard Architecture system bus and the first color monitor.
He graduated from Jefferson City High School and then attended the the University of Tennessee, both in which he excelled and performed above his classmates. After that, he attended Florida Atlantic University which he graduated in 1982 and Stanford University which he graduated in 1992.
During his involvement in computer science, he has received many honors. To illustrate, he received the IBM Fellow award, he was inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame, and received the Black Engineer of the Year President's Award. These are only a few of his impressive accomplishments.
